This page is dedicated to the activity of the New York City Studio of The Prosopon School of Iconology, a much larger organization with locations in North America, Europe, and Russia.
Our workshop Studio in New York City offers instruction in the art of iconography of the ancient Russian Byzantine tradition. Founded upon the teachings of master iconographer Vladislav Andrejev, who began teaching iconography in 1985, we follow the iconographic methodology he has diligently refined over many years with a deep respect for tradition while forging a distinct contemporary development of this living artform. On July 4, 2000 (Feast Day of St. Andrei Rublev), The Prosopon School of Iconology received the blessing of Archbishop of New York and New Jersey Peter (now reposed) and former Metropolitan of All America and Canada Theodosius.
Students of all backgrounds are welcome. No art experience necessary!
The studio is located in New York City at 41 Greene Street, New York, NY 10013. Buzzer B2.
